MEA Central’s first ever Y11 cohort secure exceptional GCSE results

We are delighted to announce our first ever set of GCSE results for our Class of 2022.

This Year 11 cohort are true trailblazers as the first group of students to sit GCSEs at MEA Central since it opened in 2017, and they have performed beyond even our most aspirational expectations.

The average grade awarded to students was a grade 5 – a strong pass.

We couldn’t be prouder of each and every one of them.

A summary of our results is below:

  • 77% of students achieved a grade 4 or above in both English and Maths
  • 58% of students achieved a grade 5 or above in both English and Maths
  • 15% of students achieved a grade 7 or above in both English and Maths
  • 92% of students achieved a grade 4 or above in English Literature

We are making a difference

In 2022, we were:

  • Top 7% of schools in the country for progress
  • Top 2% of schools in the country for progress of disadvantaged students

  • Only three school in the country have a smaller gap between disadvantaged and non-disadvantaged students.

Our Y11 students have lived our values of Citizenship, Achievement and Participation consistently for five years and demonstrated true resilience through the turbulent years of the pandemic. They have made phenomenal progress and these results are testament  to their commitment to their fantastic future and to their teachers’ hard work, talent and determination.
