LGBT+ Advice and Support

As part of our commitment to providing 'A fantastic future for all', we believe everybody at our school should feel comfortable enough to be themselves.
LGBT+ Advice and Support

MEA Central is for everyone and we are committed to ensuring all students feel safe, respected and supported.

We challenge LGBphobic and transphobic bullying and provide support to students on an individual basis. Where additional help is needed, we can signpost to trusted wellbeing and youth support services.

Support within school
If a student or parent/carer has any concerns or would like to talk about wellbeing, identity, relationships or feeling safe in school, they are encouraged to contact their childs Year Team in the first instance. Year Teams are well placed to listen, offer support, and work with families where appropriate, ensuring that any concerns are addressed sensitively and in line with safeguarding procedures. We strongly encourage open communication so that students can be supported as individuals and helped to feel safe, respected and valued in school.
