Our First Celebration Assembly

Posted on: 30/10/2017

On Friday October, staff and students gathered together to reflect on what has been accomplished on our journey so far, and to recognise the efforts and achievements of our founder students.

Afzal Khan, MP for Gorton was our special guest alongside James Eldon, CEO of The Altius Trust. Mr Khan addressed the audience and spoke of the need to dream big and work hard, emphasising that should be easy to do at a school as fantastic as MEA Central!

The Y7 vocal group gave an outstanding debut performance of Pharrell Williams's 'Happy,' which absolutely summed up the mood of the hall and we were all blown away by soloist Gabrielle's rendition of 'Runnin', which was worthy of an X-Factor final!

Mrs Reynard and Mr Khan presented rewards to students for attendance, effort and for embodying our values of Citizenship, Resilience and Participation.

There was much excitement as our Inter-Form league was also presented for the first time ever, with 7 Rumi coming out top! Of course, it is still all to play for, with five more half terms to go until the form trophy is presented to the form with the most points.

A huge well done to all students involved - we look forward to the next assembly in December where we will reward students for achievement in this recent round of Big Tests.
