Open Evening a great successPosted on: 05/10/2017
On Tuesday 3rd October we held our very first Open Evening where we were excited to open our doors to prospective pupils, their parents and the local community. We had well over 700 people through our doors and there was plenty for them to see and do.
In the PE department we had the Central Olympics and football on the 3G pitch. Drama had a full house all evening as students performed their Silent Movies and in Science visitors had the chance to dissect a heart and paint in colour using colourless liquids. Lots of people enjoyed making up Shakespearean insults in English, we had lots some competitive parents in Maths and the Humanities corridor was buzzing with future Linguists, Geographers and Historians!.
Mrs Reynard spoke about everything we have achieved so far at MEA Central, our approaches and beliefs and our vision for our students.
All of our students who acted as tour guides or helpers in departments were impeccably presented and behaved as always - Ayman Chowdhury from 7 Naidu even read a poem he had written to Mrs Reynard's audience!
We have had overwhelmingly positive feedback from all who attended and would like to thank all who took the time to come and visit us. One parent summed it up:
After coming to visit the school last night I wanted to write in and once again congratulate you all on a fantastic evening. Your year 7 children are confident, well mannered and happy. They all answered any questions I had without hesitation and are obviously very content and happy at the school.
If you could not attend, we invite you to our Open Morning on the 12th October - see our home page for details.
