It is hard to believe that there is only one school half term left before the opening of MEA Central!

Recruitment

Our teaching team is now complete and I have included a full list below. It really is a fantastic team of dedicated, passionate people and I am confident that our pupils will have five great lessons a day, every day – just as they deserve.

Transition

Myself and the Y7 team have begun our visits to primaries and these will continue throughout June. We will meet with Y6 teachers to discuss every pupil and ensure we know them as well as we possibly can before they start with us in September.

We also have two exciting dates coming up as part of our transition process:

Transition

Myself and the Y7 team have begun our visits to primaries and these will continue throughout June. We will meet with Y6 teachers to discuss every pupil and ensure we know them as well as we possibly can before they start with us in September.

We also have two exciting dates coming up as part of our transition process:

15th June: Transition Information Evening (Birchfields Primary School)

4th July: Y6 Transition Day (University of Manchester Campus)

Parents have received a letter about these dates and also an admissions pack in the post, which they should bring with them – completed – on the 15th June.

Topping Out Ceremony

Our Topping Out Ceremony is taking place on Thursday 29th June. ‘Topping Out’ is the term used by contractors to refer to the installation of the final piece of structure, or the completion of the roof on a building.  It signifies that the structure has reached its maximum height (rather than the project has reached completion).

The ceremony will mark the topping out with the installation of a plaque and is a key milestone in our project.

That’s all for now. After what has been a heartbreaking week, I wish you all a peaceful, restful half term break.
